Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Social Worker to provide professional support to individuals, families, and communities in need. This role involves assessing needs, developing and implementing support plans, and delivering services that promote well-being, independence, and safety within legal and ethical frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments of individuals and families to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
• Develop and implement care/support plans in collaboration with service users and other professionals.
• Provide direct support to individuals facing issues such as abuse, neglect, mental illness, substance misuse, or housing instability.
• Monitor and review cases regularly to ensure effective support and progress.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with external agencies, including schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organisations.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
• Maintain accurate case notes and prepare professional reports for reviews, court proceedings, and internal use.
• Engage in regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with CORU or other recognised professional body.
• Strong understanding of social work practices and legal responsibilities.
• Experience working with vulnerable individuals or families.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and perform under pressure.
• Commitment to confidentiality, equality, and professional standards.

Desirable:

• Experience in child protection, adult safeguarding, or mental health services.
• Familiarity with local support services and networks.
• Knowledge of electronic case management systems.
